A tip on oil maintenance.....

I pulled the tarp and car cover off of my Lude today and the first thing I did was check the oil. The level was very high, well above the full punch on the stick. And since the car is on level ground, I knew the reading was legit. I think what I've learned is that I need to wait a lot longer after the car is off to check the oil. On my 1.6L Civic, I could read it after a few minutes and everything would have been settled. It must take quite a bit longer in the H22 engine, because it came up low a few times before I stored it, so I added oil here and there. It must not have been necessary.

Thank you very much for the tip. I'll keep your thread in mind the next time I keep adding oil into my Prelude due to my obsessive compulsive disorder.

Yes, do not add the full capacity during an oil change.
