tint

You guys are the experts, and I trust your taste. I'm looking for a clean look to my car...no crazy s--t here....

Tinting the front two windows to any degree is illegal in my state. I'm not up for inspection till 10/03 so I'm doing it any way (I'm so tough) and I'm looking for advice for what color/percentage to go for in a white lude.

Mirror tint or just kinda dark...like 5%.

What do you think?

i was thinking about a tint myself the other day. But what i was thinking about isn't your conventional tint... I was looking at a brand new Mercedes S class and noticed the windows were tinted a sky blue. It doesn't block out the sun much, but i'm sure it at least blocks UV rays, plus it looks really clean! I have a white lude and i kinda pictured it in my head... i think it'll look really clean. But that's just me

In anycase for your question... i say something light... i drove my friends black lude that he had tinted. (He was beyond drunk). While driving him home... it was really hard to see out the back and side windows... pretty scary.

I have 5% all around on top of the factory tint and damn is it dark. It takes time getting used to it at night cause its kinda hard to see. It only took me a few days, cause I usually role around with my windows down anyways. No one can even see inside your car at night, and during the day, the only way you can see inside is if light shines through.

On a white prelude, I would suggest getting something around 20% on the sides and back. However, I also think on a light colored car that if you get 35% all the way around and tint the windshield 50% it looks very sweet!!

I have 20% reflective on my Silver Lude, i like these tints becuase they are fully metalic and on a silver car it looks like mirrorish but its not fully mirror and at night it looks like black tint. It reads 11 percent when read through a gun. It is hard to see out at night especially where i live. No lights in the wooded areas. But the reflective is very nice if you have a silver car since it brings out the silver tone more. Peace

We do tinting at the shop I work at. To be honest if you want to go dark, find someone who uses Llumar tint. But the grade you are looking for is Centaur. It's a half metal, half died film. But it is by far the clearest to look through. My windows are 18% and they aren't too bad at night to look through. The cool thing about it is, it has a slight bluish look to it because of the metal in it(very slight) and it would look good with the blue pearl/flake in your white honda paint. They do make a tint called Platnium Plus that is a 98% metal film, very reflective, that might look good too, but it's a lot more expensive and illegal if I'm not mistaken. I also have my entire windshield tinted 50%! Talk about illeagal, but I love it!

my back windows are BLACKED OUT, u can't even see at night time. Talk about illegal huh? i got the rest of my car smoked sorta light..

original question: you got a white car, its either a smoke tint, or a dark tint.

is it true that emissions will fine you if they find your tint illegal?

20% on my back windshield and rear windows
35% on the front windows

No problems w/vision at night, and dark enough that u can't see inside unless u walk up close!

Just a warning to u guys who are looking to tint dark. U might attract more UNWANTED attn from cops and thieves alike. Makes it look like u've got something to hide or a punk!!

shoot look at muah tint, i was gunned 28% too dark and thats just the gold tint on muah front windows. on muah back three i have gold tint then a layer of 20% black tint underneath, and the funny thing is that you can see out clear as day . im thinking about getting another layer of black done on the back three and a layer under the gold in the front to make the true gold look come out, but thats not til next year though

heres some pics

outside:

and a pic of it from the inside:

same pic but from the outside:

In NJ the cops are hardcore about tint. They'll pull you over if you have dark skin and your windows appear to be tinted as a consequence. I'm not white so I can say s... like that and get away with it.

My car however, is white. I want that blue tint that dude was talking about. Either that or th mirror tint. How much do you guys think it'd be?

By the way, LOVE THE STICKER!!!

i personally dont like the tint that changes color half way up the window, and mirrored tint i only like on certain cars....so personally i would go with 5% on your white lude....i have like 35%, and i hate it........not dark enough...hopefully for christmas i am gonna go down to 2.5%........ill take the tint tickets i love privacy and the darkness...i hate light..sometimes i feel like a vampire...cause when im out in the sunlight i start getting sick....thats only being in the sun for like 5 seconds....god i hate having to be a part of the nether world...ahahahaha

What do you think?
i went with 50% and i passed inspection with that... even though my state also has a no tint law...

if i had to do it over i would go 35% or better yet i would go w/ the titanium look tint...

I thought long and hard about your tint predicament and in all honesty I would go with a basic 20% all the way around (Except windshield of course). It really looks great on my Electro Blue 2001 and it would do the same for white. It looks even and uniform. The mirrors and limo tints and 5% are just way to dark and are red flags for cops wanting to kick you around because they want a ride like yours. You won't be disappointed with the 20% if done right.
