i would recomond you remove your timing belt and replace it. while replacing it inspect all the pulleys and etc.

you have to change your timing belt anyways now since its starting to fray. the sooner the better you don't want that to snap

while your there i would replace your hydralic tensioner, you probbably have one. swap to a manual more reliable.

also check when you put the belt on if it sits even along the whole belt routing route. when i changed my timing belt i didn't like the way it sat. particulary where the tensioner pulley was. i added a 1/8 inch washer to where the pulley sat on top of the pulley stud that mounted to the block. that made my belt sit right in the center and stopped it from wanting to walk.

you really think i shoud replace the whole thing because the only place its fraying is the edge the rest is fine i just dont know how to get it to sit straight is there a way i can do that with out removing the belt.

Well you got a couple options. Replace/adjust it, or keep a close eye on it to see if it keeps moving. If it keeps rubbing and shaving more plastic bits of fix it ASAP.

The bolt going through the tensioner pulley is most likely bent causing the belt to walk to one side, replace the belt and tensioner.

Also, if you think you can drive around with a frayed t-belt you shouldn't even be allowed to own a car, it WILL snap and cause internal engine damage.

Your taking a big chance if you dont replace it. If that belt fails and your driving..your gonna ruin your motor.
