It sucks when the parents own the car, I can't do crap to it! The only "mod" I have is a K&N filter I dropped in yesterday:|
im not into performance mods on a prelude. id rather spend that money and get a 2002 WS6. i was working on exterior looks. i wasnt planning on the tranny to break, but if it did i wanted to put in a manual, now that it did, they flipping out and want the quickest solution, another automatic.
if i could turn back time i would have just sold my auto lude for a manual one. but i had the swap done and had a ton of problems, it will never be reliable like a stock one. select the shop carefully.
o and 5spd ludes are the only way to go, alot more fun to drive.

Lol. I know what you mean Jesse. I'm building an L92 for my rx7. Its more cost effective to build a car like this than to try and make a prelude fast. Don't get me wrong. The lude is a nice car no doubt. Has decent power for a 4 cylinder, and gets ok gas mileage. But, the thing with trying to make slow cars fast is...well, it's a lot of work. Here's a few rundown specs
Rx7 chassis, rear wheel drive, running 18X10.5 up front and 18X12 out back. chassis weighs about 2400 lbs empty. The L92 is an all aluminum 6.2L V8. Makes 410hp/ 399tq STOCK. Guys have been getting over 500 crank with a cam change and headers with a good exhaust. I bought the longlbock for $2200 shipped out of an '07 Escalade with 17K miles. After I'm done, I'll have a rear wheel drive car with 500Hp and weighing in at around 2700 lbs or so. I'll have the 6 speed T56, and get in the mid to high 20's for mpg. My prelude gets 28mpg. If I can get 25 mpg in the Rx7, I will be happy. 2.2L 198hp = 28mpg, 6.2L 500hp = 25 mpg LOLZ oh, and I will have less than $15K in the car.

i mean dont get me wrong, i love preludes. 5gen especially. 4gens i like, not much into them past that. 190hp coming from 4cyl is pretty sweet. and once i get into vtec, damn thats when i really love the car. i had my Z28 with a LT4 making 350hp, sounded like a monster, but it didnt have good 'ol vtec
