Ticket

Do any of you guys have clear side markers with hyperwhite bulbs on your Preludes? Have you ever gotten a ticket for it? How much is a ticket for having clear sidemarkers with hyperwhite bulbs in them?

I used to have them and I got a ticket for it. I think it was like $30 something dollars. I don't remember. I only got the ticket cause the cop was a BITC*H. I took them off cause I saw another Prelude just like mine. I'm just trying to be different from others

Even if the lense is clear is it still legal if the light is orange? The ones I bought came with red bulbs but I don't like them. I put hyperwhite bulbs in and it looks great but I don't want a ticket.

They are still illegal even if you put a red or orange bulb in it. You have to have either a red or orange lense. Thats what the cop told me. It has something to do with having to beable to be seen from the side or something like that. I just thinks its B/S. But like I said earlier, I only put red ones on to be different from this other guy to copied me . I better not catch him doing the same as me.

OK if the lense is DOT approved then you can have a orange bulb inside to make it legal if the lenses are not DOT approved and you still put a orange bulb inside then its illegal. My tickets have always been $35 bucks plus court cost. After so many times i just said its not worth it so i have DOT approved lenses with colored bulbs. Peace

In Windsor your cool with hyper whites. I have never had a problem there with them. Just be carefull of the cops. There are so many punks down there with domestic POS that they confuse us with them cause they know no better. And save your Lude testostorone for late nights out in the cornfield side roads. Just let the VTEC explode there and nowere near the towns on the detroit river, you know were the windsor sanitation facilities are. There are cops everywere there.

BTW, i have hyperwhite polargs

dang, you're lucky then, especially in the bay area. sometime last year, i was driving in downtown san jose at night with my hyperwhite polarg bulbs in my side markers and i pulled up to a stop light. *get this* a cop and his buddies that were hanging out outside of starbucks walked up to my window, tapped on it, and told me to pull over in a red zone. i gave him my *i didn't know they were illegal* speech and he still gave me a lotta crap about it. he even said they were dangerous and told me to drive home immediately. but anyways, i put the stocks back on, paid the $25 or so ticket, got it approved, then put the white lense and hyperwhites back on in a matter of an hour . it's illegal in california at least, but not a lot of cops will pull you over just for that. i've passed, driven right next to, and even sped by a cop (on accident) with those and they didn't pull me over. on a side note, i've also never gotten pulled over for no front license plate. the lude just looks damn clean without it.

actually yea, i was reading the vehicle codes for cali and it said that sidemarkers gotta be amber or yellow... but the cop just said stuff bout them looking a little blue. i told him that they're supposed to be white and stuff .. it's been like 3 months and i've passed by so many cops with my lights and plate, most of them are really lazy. oh welp, my plate is back where it belongs cuz if i get a ticket my parents would kill me

I'm not trying to make excuses. I've been pulled over way before that and the cops didn't say **** about them. This cop gave me a ticket cause my neighborhood was complaning about how my exhaust is to loud and trying to say I was speeding going like 60 mph all the time. I only go like 20-30 mph in 1st or 2nd gear, but I guess it sounds like I'm speeding. I don't make excusess for my mistakes

I was reading an article about this that kind of applies. I too have clear lenses (Sides and bumper) I also have carb fib Tails and hyper bulbs in my headlights. I was concerned and read this article that said that most problems and tickets come at the result of the cops discretion. It usually isn't the lenses that get you pulled over but the cream filled that spurted on his lap during his lunch hour. But seriously, it is the exhaust hummm and the graphics kit and the pavement scraping fascias that get you pulled over. Everything else is just the fun that the cop gets in making you sweat...

here's your answer

if you check the VCR (vehicle code regulation) it states that the vehicle's side marker lens(parking lamps) can either be amber or white, the same applies for the bulbs. i know this for a fact, because not too ling ago i was cited for the my lights and my exhaust and in both cases i won. the only bad part of it is.... the cops can still cite you, but if you're prepared and you have VCR w/ you when you go to court then you have nothing to worry about. hope you find this infor. helpful. peace.
