can someone point me in the direction to wehre i can view the SCC article myself?
also, I called AEM in hopes of getting a written statement from them that would clearly state that in no way would the intake affect the transmission, they declined to give me one but they were extremely helpful...i talked to Robert and he told me that the CARB sticker would suffice as my written document and that that sticker does wonders
he told me to call CARB and have a staff member from their board provide me with a statement that would show that that part is California legal and that it has been through strenuous testing to prove that it is emissions as well as all warranty legal
however, i have no idea how to contact CARB....they're website is difficult to navigate and there are just masses upon masses of different phone numbers and agencies and sub-agencies to contact
i am however getting together a grip of evidence and any more would be appreciated...thanks to everyone thus far
I believe their website is www.sportcompactcarweb.com I haven't really looked at there site, but I imagine it is on there. If not let me know and I may be able to get you a copy somehow. I too have a AEM intake and come to think of it I am not sure if there is a carb sticker on it or not? I just looked through my receipts and info and neither my instructions or receipt have the carb # on them. I would think AEM's website would have it or you can just call them back if it's not on the intake. Come to think of it you don't have your car to go and check do you? When I go out later I will look and see if it is on my intake. I will also try later to look at the carb website and see if I can't get anywhere with it for you, Later
yeah i've been to that sema.org site perhaps one hundred times already
New Update:
Got the car back today, we were told that Honda-Care contacted the dealership and agreed to pay for HALF of the entire amount, so they paid for exactly $947.20 and we payed the other $947.20. As for losing the keys, the dealership replaced the chip in the car and made two new keys, claiming the car couldn't be stolen with new chips. The alarm is still the same so if they wanted to steal parts they still could, but for that, the dealer merely gave us $100 in reparation fees (don't know if that was a good move or not...or should we have pushed for a new alarm system?).
My father and I are not sure if we should pursue the amount in full in a small claims court or just leave the transaction completed as it is. We are leaning more towards pushing for a reimbursement of the full amount however. I will keep everyone updated.
Always waiting for new help, if anyone finds any articles that would be helpful, or any anecdotes of relevant situations, or any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Atleast you have gotten some money. I haven't read the whole thread but I was wonderin if you have contacted Honda yourself? Not the dealership but Honda. I have heard of some people that called and explained their situation and gotten good results, even if they didn't have a warranty. I do have that number if you need.
I tried calling American Honda but all they could do was write a report and have it filed. They do not have jurisdiction over Honda-Care and therefore could not do anything to change the ruling against me.
If there is another corporation that overshadows American Honda and Honda-Care, then maybe it would be of some help to contact them but contacting American Honda proved to be futile.
Well just don't leave us hanging? What happened? What reason did Honda Care give for paying half? You know that they didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts. You did talk to them right? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together. You must have made a big enough stink and they know that they are wrong and that is why they are paying for half hoping you will be satisfied with that and leave them alone. You are still going to persue them for the rest of it. Them paying for anything just admits their culpability! What did the dealership say?

He has purchased an EXTENDED WARRANTY!!IT IS NOT THE SAME. This does not follow the same rules as the oem warranty. This is done by the dealership and the dealership is the one responsible for the repairs and wether or not they fix it or not. Honda Care is the one who finances all the repairs IF they fall under what THEY consisder faulty parts. Sorry bro but you will lose this if you did try and fight this. Not try to rain on anyone's parade but thats how it works, dealerships screw you with those ad on warranties. I used to sell cars and even Honda's, and that a Finance guys trick to make more money on the back end. If anyone ever wants to know the tricks to buying a new car give me a holler.

Yes, the extended warranty is under Honda-Care. This is the reason that I have been getting trouble and also why the process to get everything cleared up has been extremely difficult.
I am not sure whether or not to continue to try and pursue the remaining amount of money. I will continue to post updates. Thanks to everyone.
