For those that have the factory Alarm

Sup,

Ok this is getting to be a bit of annoyance for me. I have the factory honda alarm system and from time to time it will go off completely randomly. It really didnt bother me except that now its going off a couple times a day. Last night it went off at frickin 3:30 AM!!!!!!!!! And I know its just for no reason cuz i mean its in the garage and my street is pretty quiet. Anybody else have this problem? What can i do to fix it?

well my factory alarm doesnt have a shock sensor, so I figure yours doesnt either. so you should only have the trunk and door switches to worry about. your doors might not be pushing them in all the way, or one of the switches might be bad.... or your alarm is a POS? lol sorry, thats all I can think of.

good luck

my factory one does... it's on the actual alarm control module... find that, turn the screw counterclockwise all the way and voila

I was having the same problem on my aftermarket alarm. It would go off early in the morning, especially since the temp's gotten colder. I adjusted the hood pin switch and it hasn't done it since. Could be the cold messing with the switches in your alarm, check each one to make sure they're being properly closed.

Well all my doors and trunk close perfectly and have no jiggles in them. I dont think I have the hood pin...i think it was optional. I dont think it could be the cold becuase the garage is pretty warm and im in cali.

Ludehawk I found the factory alarm brain...man was it hidden well, whatever dealer installed it did a really good job of getting pretty deep into the dash. Its dark now and I cant see crap, so I'm gonna try to adjust it tomorrow. Do you have yours set at least sensitivity?

Could this be related to the alarms grounding in any way?

Lock your car via remote. unlock trunk with key, alarm will go off if you have one

yes you can put a factory alarm on a 97 but you are better off getting a brand new aftermarket alarm system. THose would include more features for the price. Honda will rape you for so little.
