As for the Thermal, I believe there was only one made for the 5th gen. Some called it Classic and others called it Stealth. To my knowledge, there was only one regardless of the name and it was 2.25" piping. Can anyone verify that Thermal actually had two separate systems for the 5th gen?

The only Thermal for the 5th Gen is the Classic.

"Thermal Classic exhaust systems are designed for bolt-in
applications and have a deep, throaty sound. Classic systems are
tuned towards the upper mid-range and top end and are recommended for
the more aggressively built vehicle."

you can get the classic and the stealth for the 4th Gen though

"Thermal R&D has recently introduced the STEALTH
line of exhaust systems built specifically for street performance.
These systems are designed to create a mellower exhaust sound.
These systems feature the same great look and quality as our
Classic systems. STEALTH systems are tuned towards low to
mid-range power and are recommended on mildly modified vehicles."

I believe they both use 2.25" piping, it is just the classic muffler is different from the Stealth muffler (Classic probably flows more). Unless you are FI an exhaust isn't going to do much for you, but you do get the looks and a little better noise.

So does the classic have a different look or are they all stock looking (two tips)? I know when I bought mine a while back, the sellers only had one model regardless of what it said on the site. The only Thermal I've seen on a 5th gen is the two tipped model. What I am wondering is, does the Classic have a difference in design for the 5th gen?

The Classic by Thermal is the only exhaust system for the 5th Gen Prelude. The Stealth is the other design which has a single 4" tip, I think it's 4". The Classic has the looks of our stock exhaust except the tips are placed a little bit farther apart than stock.

The Classic doesn't have a different look other than the 2 tip design. Classic is an exhaust model of Thermal much like the Evo is a model of Greddy.

Ok from all the reading I've done the 5th Gen was designed as a Stealth unit however it didnt' meet the db specs for what Thermal considers Stealth. So initially they were called stealth and then they changed it to the Classic. The Classic is the straight through N1 style that Thermal makes for the Integra/Civic which leads to confusion since the 5th Gen Classic version is a dual tip muffler with "stealth cones". They made one system in two variations, catback and axle back all have the same muffler and 2.25" piping.

When I had mine in I took a blast through at like 3am on a Thursday night with the windows down and sunroof back. It was simply SICK!!!!!! That could sell ANYONE on buying that exhaust. My WS is nice but it's not nearly as badass in times like that.

I have the Thermal Classic/stealth on my 99 Base. It is indeed 2.25" piping and only comes in one sound level (stealthed). There are 2 part number for the B-pipe to accomodate either the Base or SH models of the car.
Do I like it-it rocks!
