test pipe question

So i put a test pipe on my car yesterday, and its giving me trouble. The rest of the exhaust system is still stock, and there aren't any engine mods beside a fidanza flywheel. Ive noticed that in the first moments of a drive I will actually almost stall. It acts like the engine is being starved of fuel. After I rev the engine in either neutral or in gear, it will go away. Then all my power is back..

Now I did put my o2 sensor right into the side of the test pipe. I am wondering if i should not have done that? My o2 sensor may be bad too. I think its the stock one. Could either of those be harboring me?

Thanks,
Cody

I assume that after you give it gas and you are on your way driving that your cel comes on? Also, thre are two o2 sensors int eh exhuast system. If you have the primary in and the secondaryin the test pipe. it will be reading to much fuel in the exhuast it will try and retard the fueling a bit as it is thinking it is getting to much fuel, so it is trying to account for the excess fuel in the exhuast. Thsi si comoon issue when peoppel remove their cats as the catlytic converter helps reduce the amount of fuel in the exhuast.

The best way around this is to use either a defouler or a o2 simulator.

The secondary O2 doesn't affect the AFR. It is only used to verify the catalytic converter working properly.

A defouler will fix the CEL, but it doesn't affect the AFR.

Removing the CAT or other exhaust mods do affect AFR and change the velocity of the exhaust.

Why are you bothering with a test pipe? Worst first mod ever.
