I finally got my Tein HA. Hopefully I will be able to get them on this Saturday. Originally I was thinking about dropping 1 inch in the front and 3/4 of a inch in the rear but now I would like to take into account what you guys have done. This is not for show and I guess anyone sane enough to buy these didn't buy it for show anyhow...so please let me know what kind of drop you went for and recommend. Thank you.

hey man - i have the tein ss and ill have the install done this weekend - if weather permits.
the stock ride from the lowest end of the fenders to the center of the wheels are around /approx 14 inches.
ill lower to where the front is 12 1/2 inches and the rears are 13 inches.
so it will be around 1-1 1/2 inch drop for me.
im not really for show - i just wanted it to handle better and to reduce the gap for my GT-N's.
BTW im still at a point where im thinking of selling my stuff.
You mean you want to sell your car and the mods? If so, why are you buying new things for your car? Make up your mind so you don't waste too much money, since when you sell things you never get the full amount back.

im not selling the car.
i already bought some volk GTN 17x7 with toyo proxes T1s, and tein ss coilovers. i have not installed them yet.
lately i discovered my wife is pregnant and father's instinct - i want to get all the money i can get,so im thinking of selling the suspension and the wheels and tires - brand new and never installed.
i could afford losing a few hundred bucks but i cant afford thinking i might put my family down in time of need.
both of them really has a statement(disclaimer) in the manual - for off road and show only - not for public street use.
the SS is a toned down version of the HA.
less stiff springs and no helper springs. i think the shocks are the same.
it is made focusing on american roads/highway.
oh god........i ordered tein ha from modacar.com........they're sending me tein ss........i dont know if i should keep the ss or ***** and complain..........
my lude has HAs with upper pillow mounts since 1998. they are still working awesome. i dropped the front 2.5inches, rear 2.75inches and street raced in malibu every weekends in the canyons. these aren't just for show, they seriously improve total handling when equiped with decent ZR tires.
i bout my HA's for my WRX from modacar last month. they're pretty good with lead-time. ordered and had it installed within 7 days.
ha's are a loud BANG!!! for the buck.

Why do you hate them?... I've had good experiences with them, but then again i live 1.5 miles from them Seriously though, they've always been good, even when i didnt live here.
2 questions
1. do you really need the pillow mounts.
2. how do you know how many inches ur car is lowered im so coilover dumb its insane so i guess u lift up your car how many times do you rotate the spring or whatever?
I want to say that most if not all coilovers out there are prone to rusting. It isn't just the Teins. The material that they are made out of tends to...I don't know the right word to use here so I'll just use, combine, and allow the threads and perch to lock up...it has to do with chemistry...and as you can see I didn't do so well in chemistry back in highschool. Anyway, during install, antisieze will help and some pbblaster or wd40 once every two weeks can't hurt. Some people had terrible times with the Teins and some have only good things to say about them.
Yes the SS has a lower spring rate than the HA. Another difference between them that I was told of is that HA has a preload capability where as the SS doesn't.
As for pillow mounts, you don't need it for daily driving and definitly not needed for a show car.
I can't wait to put these things on but I just got word from the guy that was going to do the install for me on Saturday is busy...darn...
*Screwdriver - now I understand what you mean...PRIORITIES. That's very cool of you. So how much are you thinking of selling those Volks for? And what color are they? If you are willing to sell the SS for a good price, I'll let my friend know. Thanks!

Tw00Si - i have the 17x7 volk GT-N in gold with polished lip. 5x114.3 at 44 mm offset.it also include kyokugen lugs (black) , and centercaps(optional). also it has awesome set of tires - toyo proxes T1s at 215/45/17. u can see other packages cheaper but they come with cheaper tires.
i got all these at wheeloptions a while back at 2300$ and the senter caps i got recently for 120$.
im looking to sell everything at 200$ shipped .
haha 25% restocking fee.......even if i exchange........and even when it's THEIR fault.......tell me how your car rides when you install the SS, if overall handling is improved a lot, i guess i'll stick with the SS
