I am offering the Type-HA for $1000 shipped without the pillowball mount. However, Tein USA is having difficult time bring the Prelude Type-HA coil-over over. The Type-HA has been delay for a while now and hopefully we will be getting ours in very soon. Thanks!!

Just wondering, what is the point of the pillowballs? Do you lose anything from buying the coilovers w/o pillowballs?

it's been explained to me that pillowball mounts are used mostly with cars that are actually raced. It helps you take corners better but in everyday driven cars it is not needed. Also when it is purchased there is a knocking noise when going over bumps and other such things. So unless you're going out and doing any kind of organized or professional racing I wouldn't suggest it. Hope that helps!

yeah but who's going to order Tein's and NOT go racing I'd just spend that extra and make it complete. Gees I wish I had that money

Let me explain the ball bearing pillowball mount on the Prelude, the pillowball mount is design to keep your suspension from moving around during hard cornering. See, the rubber top mount we have. Under hard cornering, the stress you are putting on the top mount will eventually break the rubber piece. When the top mount breaks, your suspension will start moving around and you will feel your car moving left and right all the time. It feels like you have a bad alignment but actually your top mount has broken. The metal ball bearing top mount from Tein holds the suspension in place and will not break under hard cornering. This is the reason most of the competition racer and street racer uses pillowball mount. The ball bearning pillowball mount also allow the suspension to travel a little better while corning since ball bearing moves around with the suspension. So basically, if you race at lot a the track, I do recommend you to get the pillowball mount for the sake of your car suspension. If you just drive around and want better handling, then you will not need it.

*Note: Having pillowball mount makes a lot of noise. If you hate noises, DO NOT get pillowball mount.

According to Tein, they are stuck in customs. They are complaining something about the broker fee or whatever you call it and the custom won't let it through. Lets just hope we get our Tein Type-HA sometime in March. Man, I got three of those on order and they are taking forever!! Including mine!!
