swapping my base model engine w/ a jdm engine

what am i going to have to do in order to swap my engine w a jdm engine. will i have to buy a lot of extra parts or will i be able to use the parts already in the car and just have the engine dropped in by a mechanic i know?? I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!
