So i recently bought a 98 Prelude SH with 94xxx miles on it. Well it came with leaking rear struts, among other things, so i have been planning on upgrading to some koni yellows and i think i'll have enough money to buy them in the next two weeks. My question is this: the car came lowered on what i think are tein stech lowering springs and i would like to know if these springs that are currently being used with my stock SH struts, will they work with the koni yellows when i get them? I have heard lots of people saying there are problems with getting struts and springs for the SH models and i would like to make sure that i will be able to use them when i get them.
Also does anyone know a good site to order them from for a decent price?
I love my tanabe springs. I have no need for adjustable height.
Springs? mmmm. Can never trust those they put stress on the struts and you bounce all over the place or it could be back the front you must have the right set.

i'm saying what you said isn't clear. i don't know what back the front means, and i'm not researching that.
coilovers will give you a more rough ride, i'm not interested in that. so post the links to this great research you found.
Sometimes the suspension can be abit too soft/bouncy or too rough/hard/stiff with just springs. I have been talking to alot of people most of the car places around here that just do spring installs. Back the front meaning the springs aren't stiff enough but that's usually an installation problem or they are too stiff. All I know is that shops always recommend coilovers or an aftermarket strut and spring because the factory struts aren't supposed to be at lower heights especially when they could 11 years old.
BTW My coilovers can be set to a soft dampening setting I have tested it and it's better than stock & I bet are better than your tanabe springs and still the car doesn't roll as much as stock.
i never said anything about keeping the stock springs.
my shocks also have dampening settings, and i have no need for the height. i still stick to springs being a more economical choice if he isn't auto-xing. my car has a much more comfortable ride than any tein set up i've ridden in/driven. that also depends on springs. i've had h&r which were horrible, i've had eibach which were pretty nice. and now i have the tanabe's and i like them better than any spring i've driven on (tein ss, illumina, h&r, eibach, GC on agx)

Cheers man will be reading. I think you have those special Tanabes you must have got lucky to get those! Yeah the teins where uncumfy my friend has that on his euro r h22a. I got lucky and got some BC Racing BR coilovers for 1k. And wow wicked how you mention h&r because that's what they use most commonly here and they are horrible.
h&r is the worse spring i've ever owned. the tanabe's were about the same price as other springs. my agx's are old and all the dampening things are broken, i'm going to buy koni's this summer when i feel like doing suspension again.

usually what's the lifespan of these aftermarket springs and shocks/struts that made by reputable company like Tanabe, KYB and Koni? For a daily driver can you expect to get at least 5 years out of them? ain't going to see any track time anytime soon either.
tanabe springs have a 3 year warranty, eibach is a lifetime warranty. koni's have a lifetime, but i'm not sure what all that covers. Each company will be different. that link i posted above has some info on longevity. not being slammed and not tracking i'd say unless it is a warrant-able defect it'll last a long time.
