suede s2k wheel worth it?

a local prelude guy is selling his suede insert AP1 steering wheel, just seeing some opinions on it before I shell out money for it. Looks sexy

I already have an ap1 on my 5th gen now so I have the airbag.

and i forgot tio mention, that judging by the cruise control buttons that appears to be an ap2 wheel, not an ap1. The ap1 wheel has the cruise control buttons that are only resume(on top) and set (on bottom). There is no cancel button int eh center, that comes on the ap2. An if that is the case then it may not work in your fifth gen as the splines are different.
But its a chilling wheel nonetheless and its a great price, post up what you decide to do man

Your right I need to go check my ap1 wheel in my car but I'm almost positive this is an ap2 steering wheel. At least the cruise control buttons are from an ap2. Hopefully he clears this up soon so I can go pick it up or not. I HATE SUSPENSE!

well if it turns out to be ap2 and you dont want it let me know as i have read about there being away to take apart the ap1 hub/spline and put it into an ap2, and also, i may be at wor int eh mountains but right before i came to work i picked up a new cruise control swtich for my ap1 wheel as i broke the other one and i had it in my truck so i ran out and looked at it and it is onyl two button, not three. anyway man let me know what your desicion is.

I'll let you know, any idea on where I could find the write-up? I'd love to see this in my car lol. The kid who's selling this doesn't cheap out on anything, he was a local to my area and had a clean turbo lude. I guess he shipped this steering wheel to Poland where a preludepower member "Bartosz" did all the work.
Basically I want this **** to work on my car.

well i had never seen a write up, but i had read about a guy on temple of vtec who had done it and it worked. If you look at the setup of the steering wheel there are bolts that hold the hub together; one would assume that you can remove all these bolts and then do the same ont eh ap2 wheel and then jsut switch parts. I dunno how it works, but i will try searching the other forum for more information. templeofvtec is the forum that the guy was on if you wanna search.

lol, yes but dont go smashing the spline or else on dy when you go to turn hard, it will come free and you will be up shiietcreek with no paddle or arse wipe.....

i too am on the hunt for you man; i have read a few different accounts now saying that the splines are the same unless its off of a 2006 s2k or higher, that the ap2 in 04 and 05 will fit the spline but may or may not need the ap1 airbag. I dunno there is allot of conlficting info out there. we will see though.

I hear ya I'm knee deep in window tabs open on my computer with about 40 online forum threads in my face with contradicting info. The guy emailed me back and thinks it may be an Ep3 steering wheel..ahhh I'm getting frustrated haha. My shop is pretty handy so who knows, I mean I do have an ap1 airbag for the thing if it comes down to that.

ANYONE with a quick answer or link to one?! I'll paypal ya 5 bucks lol

you knwo what, for hte money, i say buy it, if it doenst fit let me know and i will buy it for you. Once you recieve it take your ap1 off and test fit it to see. Like i said if it doenst work i will buy it. or buy it and see if you can take apart the spline housing, if so then take the ap1 out and do the same and then see for yourself if its interchangable.

Your right fcuk it I'm just going to buy the thing and see if it works, I'll try to post pictures up and details on how it all went. I'm meeting up with the guy tomorrow. Thing is, I didn't install my ap1 s2k wheel my local speed shop did. They are pretty smart people so hopefully they can make it work.

If not you have first dibs on it

ok man, heres the winning determination. The 2004-2005 ap2 wheel will fit the prelude spline, and you can use the 01-03 airbag in it. You will need to rewire the cruis control and you have to use the ap1 cruis buttons or else you cannot wire them into the prelude. As for the airbag, you need to use the 01-03 airbag(which you have) as long as the suede wheel is prior than 06 and is not the svg wheel. The svg wheel has an entirely different spline that is not compatible with niether the ap1, ap1, bb6, bb4 or nsx. If one wants to use the svg wheel then the have to replce the WHOLE steering column.

dont worry about the paypal either lol

So i'm selling this steering wheel. Pretty sure my transmission is starting to act up and I need to start parting ways with a lot of parts for this car. It is for sale in the "Parts Classifieds" section.
