you K&N can resist water from the oil on the filter... but if you dip the frontend into a pond, it will suck up the water into the throttle body...so as long as you dont do that, rain usually doesnt get inside. atleast not on my iceman.

You will KNOW if you sucked in water. Your RPMs will stutter at first. Then if you don't get out of the water or pull over somewhere shortly after, your car will simply shut off. At that point the best thing you can do is try to pull into a covered area (gas station etc). Wait till the rain settles. Whatever you do, don't attempt to crank the motor when u pull over. Check out how wet the filter is. If your lucky, the heat of the engine will evaporate any water in your motor.

How do I know this? Experience

Now equipped with an AEM bypass though.

If you were driving and all of a sudden your car just shut off by itself, you most likely sucked in water and possibly just blew your motor. This **** happenend to me and damn did it suck. If your car is still running, then its okay

DiamondWhite98 and Prelude1897:

How deep was the water you went into? I'm just curious, I always figured it would have to submerge almost the entire filter, but I'm sondering if it could get in from sloshing or something. Just curious.

I don't know how deep it was, cause it was night time when it happened. I was just driving through my friends neighborhood to get to his house, when all of a sudden I went through a puddle of water, didn't even see it until it was too late. There werent any street lights on, so thats why I didn't see it on time. I had to have my car pulled home and I pulled the motor out. As I was taking the oil pan off, I noticed something that wasn't suppose to be there. A f*ucking big hole.(could probably put 3-4 fingers in it) I broke a rode and it went right through my block.
