Strut tie bars

Are they worth the $? I figured between the Front, Lower and Upper back it will cost around $400 for the DC Sports. Do i need all three and how much of a difference in handling do they make? Thanks.

First of all DC sucks..... Anyways a front strut bar is very useful and a rear one will give your chassis increased strength especially after a lowering which will give it longevity. I don't think the lower rear bar is really needed on 5th gen Ludes for other than looks.

don't get the DC bars. if you have ever held them in your hand, you can actually bend them slightly. You're better off getting Spoon Strut bars (ask 98luder aka James from performance evolution for prices). Never understood the logic behind DC and putting holes in their strut bars However, do get the lower tie bar, that thing is

Ok so dont get DC Sports. Spoon is the best? How much do they run and where can they be purchased? Do they have the Front and Back Upper/Lower? Thanks.

Allow my input--get the Spoon rear upper tower bar and because it clears the hood better-Neuspeed's front one. The Spoon rear & front bars are available from James Chan (www.performance-evolution.com) and go for ~$160 each. The Neuspeed bar is less than $125. As far as I'm concerned there is absolutely no reason for you to throw your money at any rear lower tie bar for a 5th gen-DON'T do it, except for show. So far as I know there are NO other manufacturers that have actually made one-does that say anything. The upper bars will improve your car.
You want better handling-get a Neuspeed rear sway bar.

they are worth it. I have the front one and could notice steering response and some oversteer on my neuspeed bar. If spoon is too much, which I think it is, then the neuspeed is for you

So it sounds like Spoon. Another question: I still have stock suspension. Do I have to upgrade Springs, shocks, etc. before putting on the strut bars?

The rear lower tie bar connects the two arms of the suspension together, you really don't need this on a 5th gen Lude for anything other than looks.

A sway bar (aka anti-roll bar), which already on the Lude is basically a bar under the car (with the suspension components) that prevents the body from rolling. You can of couse get thicker bars for stiffer roll prevention, and putting a stiffer rear sway bar will help reduce understeer.

For more on Sway bars, go here:

http://www.grmotorsports.com/swaybars.html

Also, it connects to the frame with two slide bushings, and then at the ends of the bar it connects to the suspension arms via connecting ball joint rods.
