I've managed to mount my amp on the back of my sub. I also have a rear strut bar in my trunk. This caused a lot of rattling as the mounted amp would constantly bounce up and down against the strut bar as i drive. Therefore i glued some padding on the top of my amp (which was hitting the strut bar). Problem solved. But its a tight squeese. The amp with the newly added padding is constantly pushing up against the strut bar. I was just wondering if this would cause any structural comprise to the strut bar. Does the strut bar need space to move whilst driving? Ill post some pictures later if needed. Thanks guys

the strut bar will barely deform, if at all, during driving. it's meant to keep the frame from warping, so if anything one side or the other will rise/fall a mm or two.

if you're worried about the woofer breaking the strut bar, get some velcro from home depot.
