Stock alt with 2 batterys

Just wondering if anyone here runs 2 batterys with the stock 100amp alternator, awhile back I wanted to upgrade the alternator to a higher amp one for my audio system, but started thinking would the stock alt be able to put out enough power to run both without straining it and causing premature failure

this is probably better suited for the car audio forum. Also, there is no way to provide an answer when we know nothing about your system.

mods feel free to move this to the car audio forum,I posted this up in this forum because Its more of an engine/electrical question,I'm not concerned about my system being loud cause you can get a ticket here for anything over 25 decibals, basically i just want to run two batterys so that not only my amps get enough power, but the rest of the car also, but i started wondering theres alot of dealers out there selling high output alternators at like 240 amps and up,but if the alternators got an internal voltage regulator, would the output be just 12-13 volts?or would it put out more just because its a higher output alternator

my setup is a single 12 re sx rated up to 1000watts rms
mmats pro audio 3000.5 amp
infiniti reference series components up front and 6x9's in the rear
and putting in a kicker 650.4 this weekend

The only concern is the current draw- unless you manage to run both batteries dead flat you won't have a problem.

Look at the fuse ratings for the amps you run. Figure your car needs a good 10-15 amps just to run, then add 10A for headlights, 10A when you run the blower, 15A when you run the defrost, and so on. Charging can draw just a few or 10's depending on how low it is.

Anyhow- you should always budget as if you don't have a battery, except for the charge current. Generally speaking, when you have a big system, you need a big alternator to keep up with it. What usually happens is you start frying alternators. There is no way for an alternator to limit it's output, so when you draw too much... you just stress it and can damage it.
