Still able to save her???

So I was driving my lude through a heavily rainy morning....and after hydroplaning miles down the road, i almost make it to my destination, even after traversing through some deep puddles, my hopes of making it home to hide my car until the rain stops fails, as coming up the road, i see the entire roadway having water deep up to my ankles and my cold air intake sucks it in and the engine shuts off.

after many hours of going through traffic towing her to an auto shop, ive still yet to hear of progress whether my car is still repairable or not.

anyone knows if i can still save my lude???? please let me know ur feedback!

It may be something as simple as a wet ignition system. Spray the ignition system with WD40. Spray inside the distributor cap if your car has one.

It could also be much more serious. If the engine took on a large amount of water, it could have hydraulicked a piston. Water does not compress. On the compression stroke, it would bend or break a connecting rod or break the crankshaft. If this happened, the motor may be trash. Remove all of the spark plugs and spin the motor over with the starter. Listen for any internal knocking. If the motor will not spin over with the starter, disconnect the battery. Place the transmission in neutral and turn the motor by hand with a socket on the crankshaft pulley. If the motor does not turn, you have internal damage.

ALSO: Don't try to start car change oil filter, and clean out air filter the wires should be OK then let dry out then try to start, remember to let dry out as much as possible

SOURCES from online.

Yes it has one..... but seeing as how you car was not submerged in water i doubt this is the issue. back the 2 bolts out and have a look...not a good idea to use a corrosive cleaner on electrical components... this is why they make contact cleaner.... but again i don't think this is the problem.

let the car dry and completely drain the oil... pulling the plugs and turning the engine over to see if it blows anything out may tell you how much water you sucked in.
before you go driving in lakes again pick up an oil catch for intake

look at the oil to see if there is water in there... shouldn't be but doesn't hurt to check

good luck
