anybody experience any problems with sound on your stereo just shuting off randomly. then not turning back on? sometimes it starts out just fine and I will be listning for like an hour then first the mids cut out and then the bass cuts out. the car has a touch screen kenwood excelon vz907 and a pheonix gold reactor amp the amp was just serviced and no problems existed. theres alot of wiring and an equalizer is hooked up also. If anyone has ANY suggestions please help me!
This should be in the car audio forum... Have you checked your grounds? How is your battery doing? Maybe you are drawing too much power and after driving around for a certain amount of time the alternator cannot continue to power everything and your equipment shuts off.
I have recently came accross a problem w/ my stereo as well. Except w/ mine i can listen to the radio only. Rarely and i mean very very seldomly can i listen to a CD. And the few times it does play a CD its a real one and not a burned one. When i put in a CD it automatically ejects it out w/in 5 or so seconds w/out playing anything. Neone know whats up???

Sounds like your HU is fugged up. Take it to where you bought it and have them look at it.
I had an alpine cda 7873 and my stereo was cutting out after about 3 mths having it. It would just turn on after I hit a bump or something, or shut my door hard. It never turned on when I bang it though, so I'm guessing that it's a harness problem. So I'm buying an MP3 player now and hope that I don't get the same problem. I'm steroless btw since I sold it on ebay.
Well my problem was occuring on the factory CD player. What exactly is the HU? I guess it really doesnt matter too much cuz id rather get an aftermarket one i was just curious.
Im having similar problems with my bew Alpine Type R components speakers that I hooked up myself. The Alpine speakers include a crossover for each side which has inserts for the tweety, woofers and the amp.
This is a straight replacement with stock speakers, which was already running through an Alpine two channel amp along with my Clarion touch screen DVD player.
Ive tested the sound after the installation is completed and everything sounded right.
However, when I took the car out for a cruise, the sound from the front speakers were starting to crack as I turned up the volume, it gets even worse when the sound suddenly were randomly gone. This repeated many times and it did not sound right. So I tuned down the volume and it seemed a little better. But later, the sound from the front speakers is almost gone. I can barely here the bass and the volume is very low even I turned the volume up to max. I've doubled checked the wiring and everything is still connected as it should. What seems to be the problem?! My factory speakers never did that..
