last night i went to start up my car and it didn't start. i automatically assumed it was the battery so my friend came over this morning to help me jump start it but it still wouldn't start.
we thought the battery was totally dead until we noticed that EVERYTHING worked fine.....windows rowed up fine, stereo worked fine, the door "beeps" when we leave it open etc etc...so we've come to the conclusion that the battery is not dead.
the motor cranks but still nothing
anyone know whats up? is it something i'll need to get towed to a shop or what blehh this sucks

The same thing happened to me. Tried jump starting it first didn't work. Windows still worked, stereo everything. Bought a new battery and it started right up. Try a new battery before you start replacing things like the alternator.

You just said it suddenly started. Hm? Did you have the Ignition recall done perchance? To test the battery take it to Autozone. If you can get the car there they can check the battery and Alternator too. The voltage on the battery terminals should be 12.6 - 13.2 with the engine off and 14.4 running.

I think he meant the problem of it NOT starting just suddently stopped. That threw me for a loop too.
start with the basics. turn the key to ON and listen in the trunk for the fuel pump to click on. if you hear a click go to the fuel rail and check for pressure. if all that is good than you have to check for spark. take a spark plug wire out and put it next to the engine and crank it (try resting it and not physical holding it, 25,000+ volts hurt a lot, trust me). if you see a spark then you are getting air and fuel and its something else. do these things first and let me know how everything checks out.
well brian (kb798) came over today and we got my stupid ass car to start by roll starting it so its at the dealership getting worked on at the moment, hopefully they don't ream me in the arse. thanks for all the help guys
