Stainless steel catback exhaust's

Hey everyone-

I'm going to get myself a catback but I am a little fuzzy in the stainless steel part. I have an '01 Prelude Base model and I'd really like to get a good stainless steel exhaust system because I live in NH and I don't want the salt to kill my catback. So if I get a good stainless steel system I'll be set and will never get rust. I have seen types like "T-304" and "SUS-304" and "Full stainless steel" I just don't really know the difference. I know there is a cheap stainless steel, like something that is just a coating or something but I want 100% stainless steel. I'd like to spend roughly $400 bucks for it (if that is possible), and I'd like a nice "name brand" no cheap ebay no-name exhaust. Thanks!

a $400 stainless steel exhaust doesnt exist unless you have it custom made or buy one used. as far as new ones go, i used to have a tanabe racing medallion and it was awesome quality....id highly recommend it. you'll be lookin at around $500 plus shipping

Is the Greddy more than 400?

Ya, I would just buy a used one off of somebody. Usually cheaper, and being stainless, it doesn't really matter how old it is.

So is there a difference between T-304 and SUS-304? Or are there any other types catback's come in? I don't know if I can justify paying 500 bucks to get 5-10 hp....

Or maybe getting a catback with a full stainless steel muffler. I just don't want my exhaust to rust off after a winter

I love my Evo 2. But for around $400 you could get an A'pexi WS2.

Check out the Espelir JGT 500 it's full stainless steel. I'm getting mine this weekend it's $350 plus shipping. It's usually about $500, but it's on sale thru istoreparts.com check out the sound clips on youtube. It's a nice deep growl...

Another question, what makes an eBay cheap-o exhaust so crappy? The only thing that I have heard is the cheap ones might not fit your car properly even if you buy the correct one for your car just because they are cheap and are not made well to fit your car. But other than that, if it’s stainless steel and T-304 metal what makes it so bad? I’ve seen Skunk 2 catbacks that have those same specs. Obviously I am looking for performance upgrade but more importantly I want the catback I get to last me a long time.

Most sound crappy too! I know a guy in town who has one of those Megan exhausts, and it sounds like a lawn mower.

Are Tsudo exhaust's crappy? Or are they like a "mid goodness" brand? Not really high end but also not low end.
