Stacked question- BB8 Chassis

Has anyone ever seen a LHD BB8 Chassis? if not; how complex would it be to convert a BB8 to LHD?

I prefer the design of the BB8 (SiR)... 4ws, a bit lower compression stock; more ponies; red interior, etc... However, I'm not about to drive on the wrong side of the car for these luxuries =D

Also; is there an in-depth, and accurate list of the different 5th gen models anywhere? The more I look, the more random letters I see tagged at the end of "Prelude" =D

From what I can tell, 4ws was only available in Europe, and on a very small handfull of SiR's in Japan, on the "BB8" Chassis; the Europe engines are badged as H22A8's; 2.0's were available in the uk, but only came with a 4ss. In Europe, the Motegi models were produced until the end of 2002 (which would effectively be a 2003 model, by us standards)

So far:
US (LHD):
1997-2001 Honda Prelude Base (4ss/5mt)
1997-2001 Honda Prelude SH (5mt,atts)

EUROPE (RHD):
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.0 (4ss)
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 (4ss/5mt)
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi (4ss/5mt,4ws)
1996-2002 Honda Prelude 2.2 Motegi (4ss/5mt)
1996-2002 Honda Prelude 2.2 VTi Motegi (4ss/5mt)
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 Type-R (5mt,atts,4ws)

JAPAN (RHD):
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 Base (4ss,5mt)
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 Type-S (5mt,atts)
1996-2001 Honda Prelude 2.2 SiR (4ss,5mt,4ws)

So... back to my previous question... has anyone dug a BB8 Chassis apart? givin 2 LHD donor cars; how hard would it be to move the steering column over? (given, using all of the dash components, brackets, pieces... pretty much everything from a BB6)... If this is too much work (different firewalls)- how hard would it be to add 4ws to a BB6?

V/r,
Mike

theres a couple things around for a 4ws lhd. best estimate is $2000 just in parts. no one to my knowledge has done it or even attempted it which is a real shame. honestly your looking at the price of another prelude to do it so you might as well have it imported and just have a rhd car. personally thats what im doing next. im tired of buying jdm parts when i might as well buy a jdm car.

I don't believe the BB8 is the SIR, especially if you're looking for 4ws. 4ws was available on the Vti model. And yes there's a LHD model of it, it's probably one of the most viewed posts on this website. Simply type "BB8 Vti" into the search button and you'll find a post with 15,000 views, the car is in Slovakia where LHD is the standard.

And I doubt you're ever going to find a place to get all the parts you need for it. If so, the Prelude Community would've done it years ago.

Type-R? No such thing exists.

As for ATTS on Euro models, we dont have it. As far as I know the only models that have ATTS are BB6's imported from Japan.

So do USDM's not have 4 wheel steering?

No, the only Preludes the US got were Base (automatic or 5sp manual, open differential) and Type SH (ATTS, 5sp manual). Japan got all of them I think (of course) The Type S, SIR, SIR Spec (Limited Slip Differential and 220hp) and Vti. I think Canada got the SE and Japan, Canada and Europe got the Xi (the weakest, puniest Prelude ever).

Thanks for all of the feedback. I'm just going off of what I have been able to find on different international auction sites (Japan Partner (JDM), Piston Heads (EUDM), eBay (USDM), etc)

Money isn't a real big issue for me; I'm not married; so I get to spend all of my money on toys =)

Any idea where I might find a LHD BB8 (with 4ws) for sale?

V/r,
Mike

There is the rare SiR S Spec 4WS, most SiR and SiR S Spec cars weren't 4WS.

We had the BB5, which came with a F22 dohc non-vtec engine. There's pictures on here (run a search on milano red, it'll come up) of a F22 sohc fifth gen from somewhere in Europe where fuel is rediculously expensive. Japan also had a BB5 Si, which was fitted a four lug hub, F22 dohc, and the sunflower rims fitted to the 4g Si cars.

Never existed. Model with the atts is called VTiS here in Europe. It has a JDM TypeS front lip, JDM TypeS rear spoiler and different rims.

What does "4ss" mean? Are you implying that it's an automatic transmission?

I am from Ireland and have a BB8 VTI. She has the auto and has 4 wheel steer and she is a motegi.

Personally, if i was going again id go for a SIR (bb6)

Lot of people with 4ws actually convert to 2ws in the UK. The 4ws is totally brutal on the track and the motor is down on power compared to the JDM models, mine is UKDM or what people here refer to is EUDM.

Would it not be cheaper to just buy the parts you want on line and fit?

Here is a few quick snaps of mine

That's Wikipedia's list and it's horribly wrong.

Here's an accurate list, made by me of course.

I can't see your attachment (neither can a lot of people who contribute to forums in work environments due to internet filtering: online storage). Can you please attach the picture through the forum scripting? If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to see a reference on the places that you got the info. Thanks~
