I don't know... =) I'm not saying I was driving right and some people are probably going to flame me... but that's the way I drive. I know on older car it works miracles during idle because it doesn't put pressure on the engine. But that's a old car... our new cars have some disconnect mechanism when we approach a stop 10-15 mph and below... I hate it when it disconnects though... feels so rough... so I just throw it into nuetral... I would think it's okay... doesn't seem like anything is cracking or snapping... the nuetral is smooth. I put it back into gear too at high speeds for you squirmish people. (I blip the gear.)

some speculate that there are defects on 5th gen SS tranny and eventually fail. search the thread with "SS tranny"...
