It looks like they revamped the tranny for 2001 becuase when I ordered my Helms manual, I bought a 2001 supplement and its about 40 pages of just addl tranny info.
I got a problem w/ my 97 lude. Tranny went out w/ only freakin 30,000 miles. No mods on it either so don't blame it on that. Seriously WTF. I want a manual:finger:
i have a 99 SS and the tranny started slipping at about 34k. it was covered under warranty and was replaced, free of charge. They had the car back to me within 1 day. other than that no problems at all

Tranny slip? What do you mean by that? And no problems here. I have like 45k miles.

yes it is...at least it's not a trailer b*tch though. its funny, I probably racked up more miles driving to show events than I do normal driving around my area.
99 SS, close to 15,000 with no probs yet. been through one bottle of N20, 55 shots. really inteested in level 10 PTS upgrade.

i have a 97 with 90000 and i am on my second tranny which is also bad. it was bad since the day i got it because it was used. i didn't want to go back cuz they had my car for a month because the tranny got lost in shipping. i'm not sure but isn't that a lemon if they have your car for more than a month?
