SS blues...

Already feeling the need to switch to 5speed manual.. Not too keen on sportshift anymore it was a nice convenient ride but I feel the need to switch this SS tranny just won't do it for me anymore. I see some tranny switches with ballpark figures in the 3000s. You guys think there's any cheaper solution to this?

Ditto. It will be a b!tch as far as depreciation value is concerned but if you're really serious and set on switching to 5spd, this would be the best bet. Just think of the hassle/stress factor...bite your lip now when you buy a whole new car or bite your lip later because you ain't got no warranty. I'd really think about it if I were you. Make a list or something. That way you can see how much is going in the toilet for either one...

P.s. It would also help if you were mechanically inclined or at least have a hook up with someone who is...if you go for the tranny swap. Otherwise the answer is pretty clear.

I see what you mean guys. Thanks. Maybe I can arrange my garage to pay/do the tranny swap as part of the sponsorship deal, doubt they'd pay for getting the tranny and parts I'll probably have to find it myself but most likely the labor will be free.

Hmmm, I probably should, add to the growing number of complaints concerning SS.... Still, it's not like my tranny has broken down (yet), just not liking the snails pace feeling i get from driving around with ss.

Well believe it or not, even though the site was mainly started for people who have had their tranny's crap out on them... it's really become a forum for people who need advice or help with their SS.
