SPOON Bar Question

So i finally received my SPOON front Bar yesterday along with my JDM foggies. My newbie question is should the Black braces (marked SPOON Sports) be able to shift back and forth (sideways that is) loosely once I've bolted them in to the main bar? I always thought the braces and bar were going to be one solid piece of metal

I'm sure once bolted in place to the frame of the car, those suckers will not move, i was just curious in the design and if it was normal.

It's the weekness of the design. Crank down on the bolts untill the friction holds the bar solidly. This is done, because not every car is identicle and this allows it to fit on nearly any car.

Spoon does make a few things for the BB6. Yes, it's true that some sellers don't know exactly what's made for our car. Regarding the strut bar. I have a Spoon rear strut bar and I don't have any Spoon logos on my black braces. It's a norm for Spoon to not have any logos on their suspension bars. Are you sure you bought a genuine Spoon strut bar? My braces doesn't move either(but yes you do need to tighten it down). Maybe the fronts are different and have logos...

Unless James 98Luder is making boot leg Spoon bars from his basement, I'm pretty sure it's a 120% genuine Spoon Bar.
Before you guys swamp him with emails, I got HIS VERY LAST BB6 FRONT SPOON BAR. I just never received it until two days ago.

Thanks for all your help guys, it just needed some tightening. I was too afraid to crank the bolt. It does not move at all now. Now to mount the sucker on and go for a spin

Fronts will say spoon on the brackets.
Rear will not say anything.

And yes just tighten the bolts down.

fyi- i got a front bar for a fourth gen too - with no logos on the brackets. but mine only has 2 holes instead of 3? i measured the bar on top of the cheapy one i have now, and it's longer, so i may have a 5th gen i can't use.

i've read some posts where people claim 4th/5th gen are interchangeable. whatever. i had my car jacked up this weekend and it does not fit.

www.performance-evolution.com out of edmonton, Canada

He's a highly regarded member on PO.com and a sponsor of this site. His name is James Chan, his nick is 98luder (I think, I don't quite remember)

I highly highly recommend him, great guy to deal with, just have a bit of patience since it's JDM stuff. He's currently away on vacation, but you can always try and email him or PM him.

vtec98prelude@yahoo.com is his email addy.

Hope that helps.

So Spoon Japan has actually stopped making engine strut bars (and rears) for Preludes?

There won't be any more of them, then?

What company makes a comparable strut bar?
