Speedometer help

Hey everyone,

My speedometer has recently stopped working, my other gauges are functioning perfectly. I have checked the connections on the back of the gauge cluster, there are seated securely and there are no loose wires. Not only does the needle itself not move, but neither do the trip odometer or the permanent odometer. I could use a list of what could be causing this...and a way to determine which one it is. I really don't want to go spending more money on this than I have to, since there are a lot of other things I'd rather spend money on in the car So, any help or advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

Oh...it's a 1999 manual

Sounds like the VSS. Try and find another one locally you can swap with and see if that fixes it.

Yup, after this post I kept searching and found some more posts related to the VSS.

Thanks, Todd.
