I think they've sent you the wrong shocks...
the 741012 are listed as the rear shocks for 90-97 Accord...
and the 92+ preludes are 741032...
you should phone the person you bought it off from and get them exchanged.. unless the rear shocks for accords would work for preludes...
and why did you get KYB AGX? I thought of getting those for myself earlier too when I was looking for some shocks... but then I heard that the KYB AGX are not very good in quality, and although they have warrantee on them, they said that they often blames you for lowering your car and that often voids their warrantee...

just my opinion..
hope things work out for ya..
cause for their price he couldn't refuse
plus this way is better he can join me at the next autoX! which you should be going too
hey One: where are you going to get them installed? are you gona do it yourself? or by a shop?
maybe if we go do it together they'd give us a little discount?
lol~~
damn.. I need to alignment afterwards too..... shaaazzzzz....
but yeah, I checked with some sources on the net..
just go to google and search for KYB AGX 741032 and you should find some pages with parts number for various cars
One,
I have a 2000 base w/ AGX and the rear shock didn't look like that at all. I would return it and get the right shock. My shocks don't have the adjustment valve on the side like that, it's on the top of the shock. Part number on my box is 741032.
As far as AGX being poor quality, I wouldn't think so. KYB AGX make a very good shock and performs well to my expectations. But, the info. about the warranty is true. If you have coilovers or drop your car below 2" the warranty is voided.
KYB AGX shocks suck. My friend has them on his Civic Si. The metal bushings don't work for crap, and tend to spread open, and slide down the shaft, past the stop. My friend had one of the top shock bolts back off on him without warning (tightened with an impact wrench) while he was driving. The shock got depressed, and wouldn't come back out until we took the shock off, and manually pulled it out. We had to jimmyrig all kinds of sh!t to keep the top of the shocks from coming up and poking through the hood. Those things are awful IMHO.

KYB AGX shocks for 97+ preludes are only 4 way adjustable...
I have them and they DO NOT look like that. It's only 4 way adjustable, located at the top of the shock. The front and rears should look somewhat the same...
And who said KYB AGX shocks aren't good quality? I've had them on my old Integra with a 3 inch drop and they held up great. I now have them for my lude and it's simply the best bang for the buck imo. Maybe those problems were the result of improper installation? Did you guys install it yourself or someshiet? Koni's had similar problems as well

I agree. The top nut coming off and bushings coming under the bumpstop? How's that possible? The AGX only comes with a strut and top nut. Everything else is stock. Who told you to use an impact wrench to tighten the top of the strut That's probably why your friend's AGX is all screwed up. I installed my AGX myself and have no problems whatsoever. Whenever I raise and lower the car for oil changes the strut compresses and decompresses accordingly.
