I can't wait till Greddy gets a CARB number for the "bolt on turbo kit"... I've "heard" that it could cost me $300 to pass. if not, Ill be dropping in my NA motor when the time comes.

SMOG is one of the reasons I took everything off my car. Pain in the ass.

Sucks for you guys...just move to Oklahoma where the roads are straight and flat...and the smog and vehicle inspection is non-existant.

Knowing you live in so-cal, i wonder if you got tagged on a "gross polluter" list.

A friend of mine got tagged by one of those road-side-emissions tester, and got one of those. They required him to get tested _every_ year for 5 years(?), as proof, its all legitmate.

If i was you, i would simply remove it all and go get a "real" test. Removing the turbo only takes a day. Also, NOS should be okay as long as you dont have a bottle hooked up. Next, go dyno tune it to pass. Save the settings and leave it stock for your 5 yrs.

The problem i'm having, is finding the factory A/F, so i can make my modified motor produce the same exhaust a/f.

Would you pass the visual test though? Or is the visual not needed?

Depending on the type of NOS kit.

If it's Direct Port, you might have a problem if they scrutinize _alot_. I'd just disconnect it and put a "cap" on it.

I thought you were running turbo? Wouldn't they fail you automatically once they pop open your hood?
