sluggish power steering.

Though my car did sit idol in this cold weather for about 2 days... the power steering was very sluggish even after the car was fully warmed up and cruising on the highway. I dont see any leaks, and its at optimum level.

Any comments?

It took nearly a solid 45 minutes for the steering to act more spirited.

Just a guess - but maybe water in the system? It would partially freeze, and take some time to thaw out.

Flushing the system is pretty easy if that's the case.

If I have no leaks.. and it appears to be on the level.. what else could it be?

^^ Water in the fluid like mentioned. The only way to know for sure is to flush it. Is your power steering belt slipping..... or do you have any aftermarket pullies?

Speaking from experience (I am Canadian eh), any car will feel "stiffer" at thoes temps..... especially if you leave your car outside overnight. The longer your car is at norm operating temp, the looser it gets. Yes, my lude is like that at -30 C ..... when I used to winter drive it.

I am working away from home, 2 weeks ago it was -35 C before wind chill, -50 C after. For all you spoilled americanas..... that is -31 & -58 F
