skunk2 pro1 vs. tuner 2 cams

Ok, so i was initially told by a friend to get skunk 2 pro 1 cams, because they respond very well to the h22. I just went to a performance shop and he looked at my car and whatnot and i asked him about it and he said don't get those. Get the tuner 2. I know the idle will be rougher with the pro ones and prob more wear on the car because they are bigger lobes. But What do you guys think. I'm going na build. and plan on doing, cams, valve terrain, hytech headers, hondata, and other basic things.

I've never heard of anyone suggesting tuner series over pro for N/A builds. If there is an advantage there, it would be news to me. If you're leaving your bottom end stock then the pro1 would be best suited for you imo. You might also want to get some adjustable cam gears, between those and a tune you can make the idle nice.

You gonna get a port and polish while rebuilding your head?

Oh and its "valvetrain", not "valve terrain", lol.

I don't know. Lol i just got a $1300 ticket, so things are getting pushed back a bit. I don't think i'll p&p it though. This is my daily driver. But i want it to able to stomp the **** out of dumbass ricers who think their car is all that.

Well the main one was $1100. He accused me of going 100+ without any proof. No radar, laser, or pace. But still wrote the ticket and then $275 for going over the white line on the freeway. So yeah. they hate me.

Invest in a better ECU and pay for a tune? Maybe a header?

And this is why I don't build my car for speed. I bet you can fight that ticket and/or just defensive driving course

Yeah. Im fight it. Kinda dumb. And brian, re stock Prelude can go 140+ I believe so at thY point it wouldnt matter. True you are going to bemore likely to go fast if you have work done to it.

Yes, pro1 for your win. I really wish someone else would back me up on this.

If he has a JDM H22 then he has 10.6:1. He could get a thinner head gasket and some high compression valves and hit 11:1+ and then Those pro2's would work out great. I'm not really sure if the pro2s are a bad idea per say, but I don't think he would see any gains compared to the pro1 with lower than min spec CR.

Ok. Well, does having 260 compression in each cylinder mean anything or are these 2 entire different things.

Pro 2's, according to NAH2B on honda-tech, are at high risk for piston to valve contact on stock pistons. I would not recommend it unless doing a full engine build.

Pro 1's will have better low-end and mid-range power than the Tuner 2's. The Tuner 2's will have slightly better topend power than the Pro 1's. If I was putting cams into a stock H22 I would go Pro 1's for sure. It's got the best overall powerband.
