Skunk 2 Cam Gears 2001 owners beware

Well, there's nothing wrong with the gears themselves. I tried installing them yesterday, and I had the helm shop manual ready, and another set of instructions I found on the web. Both sources showed that there were "keys" in the camshaft that lock the cam gear in place. Well, it turns out the 2001 prelude has the keys built in to the cam gear. I didn't figure this out until I had everything apart. I am going to go to honda a get keys from the previous years, and see if that works. Make sure you guys do the same before wasting a whole day like I did.

the contruction and quality seems good. I have no complaints on that. I haven't seen the AEM in person, so I don't know. I do know that the skunks only cost 180, compared to 250 of AEM.

you're right. i was fortunate in that my mechanic had some spare keys sitting around. something to keep in mind before getting that far in the install.
