1) Search.
2) Yes, but you will need an adapter plate in order to get the tranny mounted to the engine.
3) Yes, it will drop into any 5th gen if you complete #2.

Adapter plate. It's not an item you can purchase at a store. It has to be made or purchased from someone who already has one. Search the FS area.

i have searched n pretty much what ive pulled up is... "it shud work" "it will work" i called a local jdm shop and they said all h's engines will hook up to any tranny made for them. only sign of a problem is coming from what you said so im wondering if u had some information i didnt have. and if i really need a plate id like to know why. thanks
Ok, I'll try to make this as basic as possible so that maybe you follow it. If you still don't understand, I'm not responding any further.
The Type S engine uses an ATTS transmission.
The M2A4 does NOT have ATTS.
This means that they are NOT designed to work together.
In order to use a NON-ATTS transmission on an ATTS block, an adapter plate is required because the mounting points are different.
If your "JDM shop" doesn't understand this, take your car elsewhere.
Searching this site isn't exactly productive. For info on this topic, you're better off searching Honda-Tech.com. A google search would have also helped. This information is easily available because it's been discussed for over 13 years. Next time someone tells you to search, do it, and not just on this site.

if you are goin to use an sh block and basse tranmision and you are putting it inot a base then you may have to modify a part of the base chasis in order to get the engine to fit in perfectly.
as for the sir s, it will bolt in as it doesnt use the ATTS system instead utilyzing a honda lsd int he transmission.
good luck finding an obd2 sir s, thos eowuld have to be taken out of jdm 97+ preludes which are very difficult to find yet the engine alone. you will end up with an obd1 sirs and then you willhave to do some work on it to convert it to obd2 for your swap.
The SiR S-spec wasn't a 4G model. So your only options would be 1996-2000.
