are you hearing any whizzing/whining noises coming from the tranny in neutral? or any outof the ordinary noises for that matter, it's a suretale sign of future death of your SS tranny. I would flush out your tranny fluid as a safety precaution and open up a savings account for funding a rebuild.

This started happening 2 months before my first failed tranny. It happened not when the temperature outside was cold (MAY-JULY), but when the car was cold or hadn't been driven in 8 - 10 hours. Change fluid like yesterday, install a tranny cooler and start saving some money, unless you have a warranty still... if so take it to honda and leave it there until you have a new transmission. If they give you any slack raise hell until you get a new one.

Yeah it's when the car is cold. after it warms up its fine. it does like it's suppose to. just so it doesnt happen all of a sudden and i am caught off guard. where is the best/cheapest place to buy a transmission from. www.usedengines.com when i called them said they sale them for 675 is this good? that is for a 5 spd. what all will i need to do the swap? and how much will this extra stuff cost i know i will need brake/clutch pedal. but what else. or do you guys think it's better to get a level ten kit when mine goes downhill?

From what I have heard you need an ass load of stuff for the 5 speed swap, and finding someone to do it is almost impossible.

You need the master and slave cylinders, clutch, flywheel, pedal linkage, shifter, shift boot, guages, ecu from a five speed, and much more... I will try to find a list.

And Prelude 5 speeds have just as many problems as automatics. My 5spd just died with low milage. I've only had the car for a year.

why oh why couldnt it last til its paid for so i can sale it for a 240sx

maybe i should get rid of it now while its working and get an older 240(i want a newer one but the old hatches look cool) there are plenty of them around in my area. insurance would be cheaper and in about a year i could afford to do a sr20det swap. hmmm fvck honda hahahaha
