I been doing some research because i was thinking of drilling some side markers on my fenders. I have found the template that has the cut out for the side markers :
But i need the the measurements for where exactly on the fender to drill..So i was wondering for all those luders that got some JDM fenders, if you guys could measure where the side markers sit on the fenders kinda like this:
(this is of a 4th gen though )
Thank you i would appreciate any help i can get, please i dont want to hear, "go get a JDM fender" Im broke
I ended up keeping the Bumper and lip and this is what it looks like as of right now and i think adding the side marker to the fenders would give it a nice look. Sorry for the dark picture
dude dont put those on...dont you like the cleaner look?
Depending on how strict inspection is where he's from, his car might get rejected for not having sidemarkers.

Ive got JDM Fenders...will take some measurements for you today :-)
I performed this operation on my EJ8 back in the day and i never regretted it.
As a note, there are 2 specs for lighting modes. JDM=always on Euro=Turn signal repeaters...or maybe i have them reversed. On my EJ8, i went with a dual filament bulb and had both!
oh thank you so much, i was wasnt going to do it until i got the right measurements for it, b/c i seen some before that were wayyy off and it looked weird. i really appreciate you doing this for me. I want them to be always on, so do splice them to where the wires are for my USDM side markers are?
Yeah, go ahead and cut of the stock sidemarker plugs with enough length to replace them. Unless you don't have a JDM bumper then just splice the fender sidemarker harness into the bumper side marker harness.
Oh and a rule of thumb is the fender sidemarkers are about as high off the ground as the rear sidemarkers in the taillights. There's a body line that runs along the side of the Prelude and the fender sidemarkers sit below it what looks like an inch or so.
When you're going to be wiring them, you have two options like n8r4d3 said. But I dont think its as much of a regional spec as it is a technical spec. Because if your car has bumper side markers then your fender sidemarkers usually blink with your turn signals. If you have no bumper side markers then they burn constantly and never blink.
It depends if the fender side-marker is the only side-marker. Usually it is and it's always on. I think Japanese regulations even say that the side marker must be on the fender, kind of like how in Europe and the US the side-marker has to be on the very front/rear of the vehicle.
OK! i popped my sidemarkers and traced the body line for the door and the sidemarkers. the top of the page should be lined up dead center of the bodyline curve. Sorry if its kinda sloppy, was in a hurry.
Let me know if you need more detailed dimensions.

Thats great, thanks for doing this. I'll be saving those images aswell maybe I'll get a pair of sidemarkers some day as well.

If you want plug-and-play then its one or the either, even though both ways require some slight electrical skill to splice the side marker harness into either the stock side marker harness or the turn signal harness.
If you want it to both blink and remain lit, you're going to have to splice it to the stock sidemarker harness and introduce a relay into the mix.
Happy to help, ive been lurking on these forums for a few months now, figured it was time to come out of the shadows and give a little back. :-)
Just be sure to use paper tape and tape over the area you are going to dremel out, that way it cuts down on paint chipping.
