should i spend $30000 CDN ( $19000 US ) on new 2001 prelude?

Im looking to buy a new car, probbaly a new 2001 prelude electron blue pear colour. My max would be spending $30,000 CDN ( $19000 US ). I like the lude cuz it handles great and its fast, i really like the look and stuff but dont really like the inside, the cheap looking buttons and sliders and big steering wheel, but that doesn't stop me from liking the car.

My friends keep telling me with that money rather get like a used BMW or a new Imprezza 2.5RS AWD or a used integra type r. I odnt want the type r cuz im not going to be racing, i just want a fast car and good looking car and good handling. I think the imprezza is alright but i dont really know much about subaru cars if they are reliable engines and transmissions.

The approach for used BMW i think i can get a pretty good car with my budget...but i dunno if i want to do that.........its sure good to be driving a beamer....hm...i cant really decide..

Btw, I'm going to take a 5hrs of lesson for learning stick...so I want a stick car.

Someone give me some ideas? hehe

Seems like from what you want the lude will be fine. If you are looking into used cars, try to find a used lude. Save you some cash.

btw...I spent 32K CAD for my lude w/ taxes in.

I don't understand!!!!!!

Y don't we in the US get the SE model...it seems to be the best model...better then the SH since the SE has leather and heated seats.

yeah i know u guys up in canada have leather huh. yeah well i live in cali and got it too hehehehe. anyways LudeBoi i think u should just look for a used one. u will save so much money that u could use towards mods. just look for one that doesnt have nothing done to it. even if it has clear corners dont get it. i wouldnt buy one from a person younger than 30. just make sure it was adult ownded and u will have no worries. i mean the car will still be on warranty anyways. so dont get a new one.

did u know there there is a vancouver prelude website. u should come check it out and register http://www.importexplosion.com/

I bought my SS in late 2000. I kinda regretted a bit becuz there's the WRX which is a bit more fun to drive on the sea to sky / goin whistler. Then there's the Mercedes C230 Kompressor priced at 33000 cdn and up which includes a supercharger... out put matching prelude with about 200lbs torque. and this is only stock. If i was to get a car now, I would have gone for the mercedes instead... same interior space, some better interior / luxury for sure... and perhaps the added bonus is that it picks up chic better than the lude. I guess, after a while of driving hondas, I kinda think that torqy cars would be more fun as an everyday car...

well, dont' get me wrong i aint puttin down the lude... it's still as good as ever, just that someone else came up with an even better car...

oh one more thing,
beamers below the level of M3 is kinda cheap ass... too many of them out there, too many 3's tryin to look like an M, and beside the image, their handling / power isn't really worth that much money.

:>

Get a 5sp SE, don't get the SS. The lude is definately worth it still.
I made the mistake of getting the SS in 2000 but traded it in for a S2K so no more regrets, don't make the same mistake.

I would try Carter and ask for the fleet manager.

I got an EBP '01 Prelude SE about 3 weeks ago. I love it. I used to have a 4th gen SR (or Si in the states), and I love my new one way more than my 4th gen. Anyways, I think you should probably get a used one, then spend extra money on mods.

The SE IS just a better version of the base, the only difference being leather + heated seats. But we didn't have the SH in 2001, only SE (I think). Lately I've been debating whether I should get those sport seats from that place in Vancouver for like $315USD for the pair or something?? Except I don't want to lose my heated seats. Someone offered me $1000 Canadian for my leather and swap for his cloth. I would do this if I get those seats. But the only way is if I can also get the heated seat in the sport seats.
