I took it to another mechanic and he noticed the crank pulley wobbling. He was able to find H23A Bluetop engine and I am dropping off my car for a swap. He is going to charge me $1,100 for the motor and $500 for the labor. I am excited.

Did he say what is broke? Or did he just say you have a wobbly pully and i will sell you this overpriced h23? Did he even pull the pan to check for shavings? Just seems sketchy plus you dont just drop a h23 in and call it a day. If that is the price for a blue top installed then a usdm or jdm h22 would be much cheaper for him to put in. Any warranty on this h23? It souds shady man, but if not good for you and you will have something out of the norm to show off.

its really sad that everyone in this post doesnt realize that your MAIN oil pressure comes from your main bearings on your crank. The engine has excessive main bearing clearance and that is why whenever it warms up you loose oil pressure, yes the pump is probably worn, but the main bearings are shot. they arent knocking....yet. Do your homework....go to school. The h23 does seem a touch pricey though...could have gotten a good h22 for that.

I dont find it sad at all, i am not ASE certified nor have i ever claimed to be a expert. What i do find sad is peoples arrogance towards those who do not know or how they seem to find it annoying to share such knowledge, but thanks for the lesson anyway i do infact appreciate it. So i did search and did find that bad bearings cause low pressure, hell i even picked up a link for it. Troubleshoot Low Oil Pressure . I will take my new found knowledge and place it in my box, thanks for sharing with us.

Here is a link from the previous owner of my car with noise from the engine. I think he fail to address the problem and the engine ended up this way.
