Shortshifter

Maybe you know anything about this?? Well:

I've just purchased shortshifter system for my lude 1999 VTI.

Car 150.000 km
Transmission system 50.000 km old.

Is it an good idea to set up this? I dont wanna crash my transmission system. Its only one week old. Any guides or comments?

Thx

It depends on the type of shifter. Ive seen shift adapters for the 5g on ebay which appear to be a pore choice. I do not know FOR SURE however, I have heard of cheap short shifters not allowing the trans to fully engage, which over time will wear out synchros and cause it to click/grind while shifting.

I had one and the 5th gear wouldn't fully engage. Switched it out with a DC Sports and just fine now.

depends on what kind of short shifter you have.. almost all the short shifter adapters are trash..

I've had a DC Sports adaptor for the past couple years. I just got a PSEC in the mail yesterday so I'll be installing that after work today.

A couple good ones to look into are:
-Lean Racing (discontinued)
-PSPEC
-Forbidden Motorsports (not out for 5th gen but you can use the one for 4th gen's)

I bought a short shift adapter from ebay that is supposedly by a company called "JDM" lol. It's a complete replica of the DC one so it works just as well but costs 35 bucks shipped to my door. Been using it for 2 years now, works great and the install was easy.
