Shock Suggestions

i purchased gc coilovers from ebay and the kind i bought will only fit one of these shocks....from your own experince or preference which would be the ideal setup with gc coilovers and the following shocks

1) TOKICO
2) TOKICO ILLUMINA
3) KYB AGX

thanks in advance

KYB AGX shocks are better than the others, but also the most expensive.

Another thread without searching.

You didn't search well. I have the same setup. What were you hoping to get from a pic?

You're confused. Ground Controls are coilovers. The ride height is determined by you.

you know what maybe i am confused.....here's the deal....right now i have gc on stock shocks and the ride is pretty bad....i wanted to get koni yellow shocks but at the time of purchase i didnt mention to the ebay buyer that i need gc that will fit koni shocks....and the gc that i bought it shows that it will only fit the shocks listed above, so im just trying to do a comparision as to which of those shocks will give me the best ride quality compared to the koni shocks

also i read that with kyb agx the maximum drop you can lower your car 1.5"? and if its more then 1.5" kyb agx doesnt cover the warranty, is that true?

Sounds about right. Why would you want to lower beyond that anyway?

You can drop it lower that 1.5" but yes it does void the warranty. Tokico blues will be just like stock. So either go with the Illuminas or the kybs. If you want to spend even more money you can contact ground control and purchase the adapters so you can use Konis.

how much do you think an adapter would cost?

Just get the KYB AGX shocks. I had them on my 92 Si and the ride was great. 4-way adjustable and a nice firm ride. I agree with what was said about the ride height. I would recommend only lowering 1" or so. You will likely run into issues with scraping and bottoming out often if you go much lower. Even at 1" you will have to be careful about where you are driving.

I have the Illuminas with Ground Controls. No problems, just have to leave the shocks on "5" to help reduce tire rubbing because of my 18" wheels. Because of that, my ride is very stiff. When using the stock wheels for the winter, I set them back down to "2" and the ride is much more "squishy" and comfortable.

i don think it is that ahrd of a choice, then ones you have only work with 3. Kyb and illumina's are really the only 2 int he race. Suck it up and go buy a set of struts, whichever one you choose will be night and day with the ones you have now.
