Shifting trouble Please Help!!

Hey all,
I've been hearing this popping noise coming from my shift box,
when shifting into second and third. It sounds like it's coming from the shift cables, but when I took off the console and checked it out everything seemed to be connected fine. I installed the Lean Short Shifter about 2 months ago, and hadn't had any kind of problem with it until this noise. Any clues??

connections may be solid but did you check to make sure that the cables aren't binding or getting hung up on something? Have a buddy check things out while you work through the gears.
