Shift at 8000?
Is it detrimental mto your engine to shift at 8000?If not,why is the redline on the gauges lower?
At what rpm's does the engine cutoff?

I think it's because the Prelude tach is off, so shifting at 8000 is really 7700 or something like that.

Either I shift bad or getting up to (just short of) 8000 is the only way I can keep the car in VTEC between 1st and 2nd...

I've taken it up to 8300 on the tach, that's where fuel cut off. I've gone to the track 50 times, and I usually shift around 7700-8000. No problems yet.

The fuel cut off is there to protect your engine. Shifting anywhere up to that point is safe or else they would have set the fuel cut off point lower.

8000 indicated rpm is okay...it's about 7600 on my aftermarket tach.
