solenoid faces towards back of car and needs to mount so it pulls the handle rod back. use a 12v drill battery to tap wires on to test if it works where you mount it. i had mine mounted to some backstrapping. piece of metal with holes drilled in it. wires are gonna have to go through the grommet or zip tied around it at the hinge. you MIGHT have to remove the spring in the interior handle if you intend to use it or you could run push button switches to the center console to pop em before you get out like beside the cup holder. run the outdoor emergency switch into the inner wheel well or somewhere accessable. i hope you only got the 35lbs kit. what matters is how well the spring your gonna have to install where your door shuts kicks out the door. 35lbs does not mean that spring it means the solenoid. you might need to mount 2 of those springs to kick the door open. my civic doors were light and it did it about 3 inches. damn now i wanna do this again.

do you have a link to the kit you bought? the solenoid connects to the interior door handle rod. i dont think theres a rod for the outside i think its just a latch im not sure. are the outside handles still on or staying on or are they shaved already? the solenoid replaces the handle action. heres a really ****ty paint picture for you.

next to the glass. if you can get backstrapping its bendable with your hand so you can angle it out towards the inner door panel. OR try having it face up or down but still pull the rod. looks great but once you get into it this project is always a *****. think it through dont rush it
