So I traveled to Ohio for a job interview Monday and to visit friends and family. Not sure if the cold weather could be affecting what ever is going? I just got this car in march of last year. All maintenance has been kept. Transmission fluid and coolant changed this summer, fluids looked good. While the cars sitting at idle goes in and out of every gear smooth no problem. Reverse to pull out no problem. I have trouble getting it into every gear. Sometimes it doesn't take alot of effort sometimes I have to play with it a little. Every once and awhile it almost feels like its trying to grind. Doesn't feel like sincros its got a different feel to it. Almost like the cables aren't working correctly. Ill check that here in a minute after I warm up..
Depending on what you use in the transmission cold weather can make it shift rough, when I had 10W30 oil in mine it wanted to grind before warming up but after using Honda MTF it hasn't happened since, that was 3 years ago.

I only use Honda fluids. Cables and bushings are ok. Fluids check out. Really hope its just the cold temperature. Really can't afford a repair on top of moving.
Well its warmed up and now I can say it wasn't the cold conditions causing the problem. As long as i keep it under 3k first and second shift alright.....3,4,5 i have to play with alittle. I can feel one click on the shift and then it trys to grind on me before the gear engages. I can tell when its going in gear or if its gonna grind/wined. Plans right now are to change clutch, flywheel and put a new throw out bearing in. Should be fun first time I've opened the transmission up since I bought the car. Gonna check the over all condition of the transmiassion as well to make sure i havent fried anything. Any suggestions on what clutch and flywheel to go with would be appreciated. I'm completely stock now but this spring the cars getting rebuilt.
Got up to 60 degrees today and it shifted fine for awhile. But I can hear the bearing whining every so often. Gonna order and exedy clutch and fidanza flywheel tomorrow..
Well doing the clutch starting today. Purchased a fidanza fly and exedy clutch. Ive done a few searches and haven't found any good diy's that are still good or still complete. So thought about taking photos and putting together a walk through. Will be doing the rear main seal and oil cooler o-ring as well.

awesome! you should definitely post up your progress!!!
Alright so.here's where I'm at on day two. Taking our time doing little by little. Alot of little things need to be removed lol. Becomes tedious.
Day one we disconnected everything up top. Oil cooler lines, starter, shift cables and bushings, intake tube, battery and box, and drained fluids.
Day two we have the car on jacks/stands...I know its not completely necessary but we removed both the front wheel hubs. (Bushings/dustcovers are all dry rotted and need to be changed anyway.) Axles are both removed (drivers side was a pita), exhaust dropped, .....brb after I inhale this pizza...ok I'm back.....atts is ready to be unbolted and pulled and the transmission after that :-) will post pics when I get back to civilization and my laptop. Gonna run to Honda tomorrow and get some axle seals n bushings.
Day three! Ordered seals and bushings from Honda ($130.00) won't be here till Tuesday :-(.....but the atts is pulled as well as the transmission finally. I'm stubborn and tried to take it out without taking the crossmember off.....needless to say after and hour or so I gave in. Throw out bearing was loose and loud :-p gotta get the socket to take the pressure plate off but it'll start putting it all back together tomorrow x-). Would post pics but this app can't be temperamental.
Day four had to work today but did get the pp, clutch and fly off. All the springs were loose and one of the brackets holding the spring in place fell out when the pp came off. Fly was shot was well... Everything was original so that was a good thing. Installed new rear main. Start putting it all back together tomorrow. X-D can't wait to be able to drive it again. Why will this app not upload photos?!?!
Day five.....new clutch is on......tried to change the fuel filter but a beast must have put the one in there on. After 2 hours of racking my knuckles I gave up and decided ill take it in to have it done before I destroyed one of the sensors lol. Changed oil n filter and all my bushings and axle oil seals came in today :-) stoked to get er put back together so I can drive again. The clutch had been going out since I bought the car last march :-(....so well see how she likes the improvements
Day six....tans is mounted....axle seals installed....just have the atts, axles, fluid fill and bushings left to install and she's ready to fire up. Will be posting photos in the next day or so.
Day seven! So close I can taste it and my arms are dead lol. Got the axles and wheel hubs back on just have to button up, fill fluids put the battery and intake on and hook up oil cooler lines. One of the clips on the Cv boot on the pass side slipped when installing will replace that tomorrow .....good thing it happened now before the grease flew and a new axle was needed :-)
Ill get em posted when I get to my laptop. This app sucks at times. Ill take pics for you should have em up on Sunday. Anything else you'd like to see on a stock sh that you'll need to complete the swap?
