In search of the Mugen twin loop full exhaust system

I have a 2000 base model 5th generation prelude. I have the AEM V2 intake and i put greddy headers on it a long time ago...i ordered a mugen twin loop, but the vendor said the manufacturer no longer makes them...SUPER disappointed cause i cant find it anywhere? I want to buy one...i also know a metal fabricater..so if i knew the specs and materiLs used..maybe i can have one built..like a replica...your thoughts??????

Hah...depluralize headers if u must...it was a 4-2-1 setup into the stock exhaust..so i believe i am not getting the max potential HP since the air flow output was never modified..until after increase the pipes and muffler on the way out...not sure tho

- Hytech Replica Header
- KTeller 3" Exhaust Piping Kit for 97-01 Prelude's
- 3" x 18" Vibrant Resonator
- 3" Universal Muffler
- 3" Universal High Flow Cat (If you have to pass emissions)
- Get a chipped ECU and get it tuned.

The list bloodSHed gave, with the addition of a 3" x 8" flex pipe, is what would give you the highest whp gains for an exhaust setup. It will be louder than the Mugen twin loop. I personally went with Kteller's 2.5" piping in stainless steel.

3" Kteller Exhaust Piping Kit - $238.50 + shipping
3" x 18" Vibrant Resonator - $103.33 (free shipping)
3" x 8" Universal Flex Pipe - $19.49 (free shipping)
3" Vibrant Muffler - $134.50 (free shipping)
3" Magnaflow High Flow Cat - $75.74 (free shipping)

Those are prices I found on Kteller.com and eBay. Total is $571.56 for that list, plus shipping for the Kteller kit. I would put you at $600, for an exhaust that would crap on a brand name $700-1000 exhaust.

As far as the header situation goes, the Hytech replica is the header of choice for a lot of prelude owners. It is much cheaper once again than brand name headers out there like the $500 DC sports and Greddy choices. You would be looking at around $250 for the Hytech replica. 11whp dyno proven on a stock prelude.

Basically you get a sweet header and exhaust for less than a Mugen twin loop.

exept with vibrant you dont have to cut anything or weld any flex pipes anywhere - much easier to install so it pays little bit back its higher price

@ that 01 bb6 .. What made u wanna go with 2.5" over the 3" piping u recommended to me? Stainless steel i wud assume for durability...size of the pipes wud increase/decrease airflow...in turn, altering sound and horsepower ?

I went with 2 5" piping because I didn't want the extra noise and vibration that is associated with a 3" exhaust. You have to think long term with purchases like this, do you think you're the type of person that can tolerate loud exhaust noise for long periods of time? I daily drive my car, and don't want any unwanted attention.

Yes replace the greddy header. It doesn't have a 2.5" collector and pretty much adds no whp at all.

The vibrant h22header says it will bolt up and it has a 2.5 outlet...will this be okay since i already got the kteller 3" piping respnator and muffler?
