A scary thing happend to me today!!

I was coasting towards a toll both, not in gear around 50mph and both feet off the pedals.
all of the sudden, it goes full throttle pegged it's self out about 3 times and then stopped. i was a half sec from turning off my car on the highway.
has this happend to anyone else?
Thanx for any input

my friend had this prob. in a civic...turned out he was pushing the gas and the pedal got caught on the mat, so even when he would let off the gas it would still be going.

the crusie control idea is a possability because i do use it everyday maybe it decided it didn't want to be turned off that day.
