Scale Replica

I know this has been discussed in the passed, and I did a search and didn't come across anything recent.

Anyone know if they have ever made a 5th gen scale replica. Either in a model, diecast, or even a remote control version?

I've checked on ebay since I bought my car back in 99, but never came across anything. I know that modifiers made one, but I was looking for something more stock, and larger.

there was a topic about some guy who knew some guy who knew some stuff and blah blah blah.

long story short, this guy was possibly going to make scale, detailed replicas of the prelude. but each would cost something towards $200 since they'd mostly be made by hand.

There is a remote control car body of a 5g Lude. It is clear plastic and has to be painted on the inside. It's for the gas powered R\C cars. Can't remember where I saw it, but at least I got you on the right path. Search hobby\RC car places.

EDIT: BAM! It's made by HPI.

RC cars are brilliant, the HPI bodies are awesome quality IMHO too, so the 5G prelude would be quite easy to make good looking.

unfortunately they dont come with light boxes and LED holders, so you would have to custom make head/tail lights if you wanted it more realistic

But yeah, since they are just a clear untrimmed shell you build it to how you want *done about 300 in his lifetime for friends/fellow racers and his own cars*

plus theres usually a TONNE of aftermarket wheels you can find for them, just never get a HPI E-10 chassis if you want to make it an RC car, they are shockingly poor :P

Number 2 Tamiya makes the best bodies bar none.

Number 3 you don't have to decal or paint them as displayed.

I had a HPI Nitro RS4-1 with a Tamiya Lanver Evo IV WRC body, and a Nitro RS4-3Evo with a Tamiya Lancer Evo VI WRC. I painted neither car in WRC Livery:

This is how the cars are "supposed" to be painted:

That JDM enough?

hmmmmmmmm... was really really hesitant about bumping this... but i didnt think you guys would appreciate yet another thread about this ;p

i am recently in the mood to find diecast or RC for preludes. (maybe its xmas coming soon and all...)

the links posted by Lude Acts above, is just a shell for the prelude right? im assuming that shell goes over some generic RC car?

after seeing F the H's evo, i was hoping to find one similar. not much luck though, i have tried a bunch of local stores in my area, and the CLOSEST things i can find is RSX (honda integra R), S2000s, NSX.

anyone have any luck finding any 5th gen prelude diecast or wellmade RCs?

thanks in advance! merry christmas ;]!

i have an rc prelude you can choose to go with electric rc or nitro rc
i painted mine to match my real one. the company that make the shell is hpi and they also make the actual car it mounts to. nitro rc cars are a blast but you
might want to find a hobby shop thats an authorized hpi dealer since you cant buy straight from them online. its cheaper to buy a car and then the body cause if you buy the prelude combo pack it will cost way too much. also if you check craigslist you can find people getting out of the hobby and letting go of thier cars real cheap. if i get a chance ill try to upload some pictures of my lude so you can see what i mean.

^thanks that would be great if you can post photos.

so i looked at HPI, and did a search on their site for prelude, and it yielded no results... which is the same situation as every other hobby store's website i check ;[

keep checking ebay, just type in prelude and surf to these category

Toys & Games > Diecast & Vehicles > Other Diecast & Vehicles

or

Toys & Games > Model Kits > Models

theres currently a second gen 1/43, third gen 1/24 and fourth gen 1/24 up for sale. the fourth gen is pretty cheap ($9+9 shipping to u.s.) the others not so much (second gen is $70+shipping to u.s. and third is $40+shipping to u.s.)
