S2000 Start Button Locations????

Alright guys, im going to be doing the s2k start button install soon, but i was just going to ask for some brainstorming help on where to install one. i dont want to do it in place of the cigarette lighter, i use it quite a bit to charge my phone, etc. natc99 installed his in the coin tray holder. im just seeing if anybody has any idea for any other good location to install one. if it is either farfetched or pratical, i dont care. just want some more ideas thanks in advance for the help. pics would be great too

Drill a hole in the dashboard on either side of the steering wheel. It's on the left in a S2K. Just make sure you get the hole right. You don't want a dangling start button hanging froma crooked-ass chewed up hole in the dashboard.

yea. im liking natc99's idea just for the cool factor but adding on to your idea, isnt there a tray to the left of the steering wheel for some purpose. (kinda like under the OEM Stereo)

+1 it would look a lot better than putting it where the cigarette lighter is

This is where I put mine.

Figured I never use the dimmer switch anyway, so I tie wrapped it under the dash out of the way.

does the key have to be in the 2nd position for the button to work or can you just push it and go?

In my car, the key has to be in the running position, and the clutch pushed in before the button does anything. Turnning the key to the start position now does nothing.

Some poeple bypass the clutch saftey, but I'd rather have it in there.

mine same same, great concept as in my case it also adds a slight security benefit also.

damn clean install..

I'm deathly afraid of letting someone else drive my car like valets and service guys. They never seem to figure out how to turn it on or put it in reverse. Sadly even some honda service guys are guilty of this. I once had a valet bend my key because he didn't know about the push start.

Thanks!

All it took was a dremel, some model plastic putty, satin black paint and a few hours. Wiring it up and routing the cables nicely was the real pain.
