Rubber floor mat

The STOCK floor mat came off the floor... looks like it was just glued down? Either way.. what would be the best LONG term way of reattaching it, without trying to sew it down to the carpet?

This irritates me... I imagine there must be a kick as glue for this..

I'm confused...the floor mats are not permanently attached to the carpet.
What exactly is going on? Pics?

EDIT - Oh, I know what you mean now. You mean the rubber part that is attached to the carpet, which gets covered up by the floor mat. Sorry, I don't know how it's attached, but a good rubber cement or similar adhesive should work. But do you really need it? You don't even see it when the floor mat is in place, that is, if you use floor mats.

Maybe it is the way I drive, but it seems like driver side floor mats always get pushed back behind my pedals... which is dangerous, lol. I would rather just vacuum more often.. and that rubber part that came off.. well, it would keep it stock. There is an imprint left behind where it was that doesn't look to be going away.. easier to just reattach it.

I really assumed it had to happen to someone else, and maybe they know a quick or good fix.

My OEM floor mat pretty much stays in place due to its shape. Have you used OEM or aftermarket floor mats?

Maybe you should install the peg/grommet that keeps your mats in place. That way they don't get pushed behind your pedals.

I don't even have that and my mat stays in place.

I could see some aftermarket mats sliding around since they don't have the correct shape.

Well, good luck with whatever you end up using.

the oem mats are the best but they cost a 100 bucks from the dealer. the have a metal ring built in the mats that latch on to a peg under your seat. so you know they won't slide.

I don't have that peg and mine doesn't slide.

Every once in a while someone sells their OEM mats here for a good price.

the metal peg depends on the year of the car. i know a 97 doesn't have it. not sure if it started with 98 or 99.

I wish I had the stock floor mats... I don't. I sure don't have 100 bucks to get them. I was talking about the rubber mat that is attached to the floor itself.. looks like the edges were glued down. Rather than leave it off, I would like to reattach it.

Lift up your stock floor mat on the drivers side and you will see what I am talking about. Any advice there would be helpful..(and plz don't pm me about selling your mats.. until school loans go through, I have NO money.. nor intention to buy them anytime soon.)
