RPM vs Speed

Could anyone tell me if the 2 are in constant with another? Or do mods affect it? Like if you were in a specific gear, say 5th, and at 3k rpm is the speed your going always going to be the same speed no matter how you launch or mod your car?

yep, unless your clutch is slippin,
It doesn't matter what mods you do you will be at the same RPM in the a certain gear at a certain speed. If you change rims or something of that nature then it will change but engine mods won't effect it.

Doesn't a lightened fly wheel let you rev a lot faster? I know it drops faster too but does a lightened flywheel make it that much faster? One more thing, does it mean our 5gens will top out at 155 or so mph no matter what unless you have the rpms raised, via a hondata ecu?

Yes, but only when the clutch pedal is depressed. If your engine revs a lot faster when the clutch pedal is not depressed then you've got a slipping clutch (regardless if it's lightweight). 5th gens top out around 143mph unless you change the diameter of your wheels.

Yes, but in the real world there is something called speedometer error.
